Women Helping Women Reach for the Stars

President’s Message

What began at a dining room table on May 1, 2021, during the virtual Sixty-Second Annual Convention of the Alabama State Chapter P.E.O. Sisterhood is now in its final year of one of the greatest and most rewarding five years imaginable following my retirement! Sisters-YOU and your enthusiasm, love and devotion to P.E.O. is what inspired my theme for this year! Being so warmly welcomed by the State Board, my Board Buddy chapters, Reciprocity events, local chapter fundraisers and at previous annual state & international conventions provided the inspiration for “Dream-Sparkle-Shine in P.E.O.” this year. YOU are the heart of P.E.O.!

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I hope our dreams include a determination to do all we can as we care deeply, think kindly, and act gently with gratitude and grace.

I encourage all of us to seize every opportunity available in our local chapters, schools, communities and churches to leave a trail of “SPARKLE” wherever we go! I truly believe there is no such thing as sparkling too much. We radiate sparkle because we believe in the spirit of P.E.O. and in helping women reach for the stars.

May each of us “SHINE” during 2025-2026 with regular attendance at our chapter meetings, saying “yes” when asked, sharing P.E.O. with our community through participation in state-wide day of service, inviting visitors to socials & programs, assisting with finding candidates for our projects and expressing that loving concern for each other.

Let us envision the Dream in P.E.O. vitality, embrace our Sparkle in P.E.O. and Shine Bright in P.E.O. this year as we daily demonstrate the qualities of Faith, Love, Purity, Justice and Truth.

With sisterly love,
Cel

1. Envision the Dream in P.E.O. Chapter Vitality by:

2. Embrace your Sparkle in P.E.O. by:

Share P.E.O. philanthropy information with others by networking with local agencies and/or participating in College Fair Day if applicable.

Energize Joy and Excitement by hosting a minimum of 4 social events: one with 1-2 other chapters; one with BILS and 2 “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” socials with chapter sisters.

3. Shine Bright in P.E.O. by:

Increase membership with at least two new sisters by initiation, transfer in, or reinstatement.

Participate in the Alabama State-Wide P.E.O. Day of Service.
